Peloton’s Lanebreak video game is finally here

Peloton released its eagerly anticipated Lanebreak video game earlier this week. The workout game, which Peloton first teased in January, mimics the feel of riding alongside other live and recorded riders on the brand’s stationary bike and treadmill. You can also race against friends and other players with real Peloton bike data or try to beat your own records.

Peloton announced today that its “next generation bike” has been updated, adding new features such as a game controller and virtual cycling app, turning it into an immersive console. The lanebreak video game is all about multiplayer riding, with up to four players competing in head-to-head races on a single track. It comes complete with in-game leaderboards, which you can also view on the bike’s console or phone app as well as through your browser window. The smartphone app itself lets you set goals, join friends on other Pelotons, or start races from anywhere in the world.

Peloton’s much-anticipated video game console is finally here. Lanebreak lets you explore worlds on your bike but to gamers, it’s not quite the finish line. Peloton just announced a surprise to its users. The Lanebreak video game, designed for all iPhone models, is now available on the Apple App Store. Peloton has been working on a video game controller and companion software called Lanebreak, and it's finally here.

We’ll never know just how many of Peloton’s 18.6 million classes in 2020 might have been deserted without the promise of a virtual ride, but now it’s official — the bike manufacturer is taking its fitness prowess to a new gaming platform for adults. The multi-player competitive cycling game called Lanebreak is built around Peloton’s extensive library of content and instructors.
